A constantly evolving textile expertise: innovation at the heart of Satab Group

Posté le 28 August 2026

Since 1905, Satab Group has evolved its textile expertise in line with changes in the industry.

From passementerie to technical textiles, from R&D to new processes such as 3D printing, the Group has continuously explored new ways of working with materials and responding to the needs of its markets.

An industrial history rooted in textiles

Satab Group’s history began in 1905 in Saint-Just-Malmont, in the Haute-Loire region, with a passementerie business.

Over the decades, the Group has developed its expertise and production capabilities, gradually integrating new technologies and new areas of expertise.

This evolution continues today: its historic textile expertise provides a foundation on which Satab Group continues to experiment, innovate and develop new solutions.

Developing new expertise to meet new needs

The evolution of markets has gradually expanded the possibilities offered by textiles. Expectations are no longer limited to a product’s aesthetics or strength, but also extend to its performance, functionality and ability to integrate into increasingly specific environments.

To meet these needs, Satab Group has developed expertise in several textile technologies, including weaving, braiding, knitting, dyeing, printing and finishing.

This complementarity makes it possible to explore different structures, materials and finishes, and to develop solutions adapted to the requirements of each application.

3D printing on narrow textiles is one example. It makes it possible to create reliefs, material effects or specific functions directly on the textile, opening up new possibilities in terms of customisation and design.

Textiles then become not only a medium for creativity, but also a material on which new functions can be developed.

R&D at the heart of textile development

Innovation also comes through experimentation.

Satab Group’s Research and Development department supports this approach by working on new materials, new processes and new integration possibilities.

Prototypes, testing and the development of bespoke solutions make it possible to explore what textiles can offer beyond their traditional uses.

This ability to experiment provides a genuine link between existing expertise and the applications of tomorrow.

Three brands, complementary areas of expertise

This diversity of expertise is reflected today in Satab Group’s three brands.

Maison Satab develops creative and bespoke textile solutions for fashion, luxury, packaging and interior design.

Novalti supports technical and industrial applications with narrow textiles designed to meet specific requirements.

Eweave explores the possibilities offered by smart textiles by integrating new functions directly into the material.

This complementarity enables the Group to cover a wide range of applications while maintaining the same core textile expertise.
